Method

We use the IBTrACS v04r01 ‘last 3 years’ file. Peak wind is the highest 1-minute sustained wind reported by the U.S. agencies (JTWC/NHC) in knots; pressure is the WMO agency value where available, otherwise the U.S. value. Spur tracks are excluded. Positions are shown as published.
